MechanEX was launched in 2007 and designed to meet the preventive maintenance and repair needs of our many customers in the southeast United States. We offer both on-site and fixed-base options — whatever it takes to keep your fleet serviced and on the road!
Our parent company, Snider Tire, Inc. was founded in 1976 by John H. Snider, father of current President/CEO John K. Snider. Senior Mr. Snider purchased General Tire Service, a local dealer in Greensboro, North Carolina, and renamed the company Snider Tire, Inc. We originally offered a variety of products and services including car tires, new truck tires, off-the-road tires, and retread truck tires — many of the same products we still provide today!

Snider Tire has grown to be one of the largest commercial tire dealers and retreaders in the nation, recognized as an industry leader in providing innovative outsourcing alternatives for one-truck fleets to large, multi-location trucking fleets. We work hard to maintain our leadership position by recruiting and training the most qualified people available, as well as investing in facilities, equipment, vehicles, and information technology to keep our competitive edge.
We currently operate 6 Michelin MRT® manufacturing facilities and 45 commercial/MechanEX/TRACS locations, with over 800 employees located in 11 states. With our strategically located plants, we can effectively service your locations in over 30 states.
